At full load it should be something like 25-30psi (wild arse guess). My Volkswagen makes 4psi at 10mph

Maybe it is 40.

It seems like before, under full acc, the gauge went all the way to the right. the middle is 2 or 20, I guess.

40 is a lot but if it was only making 4psi you'd barely be moving.

You're gonna notice every single little squeak and creak with that truck from now on

Yep. It's a steaming POS that was brought to market to limp Fords trucks to the 6.7

They had to get rid of the 6.0 and the 6.7 wasn't nearly ready yet, so the result was that disposable hunk of shite to fill the gap. It was never intended to last.

Well you can go off of that gauge as a direct indication of engine load. If you never got past 20psi, you never had it close to fully loaded. Or the gauge is fricked up.

An engine that size strung out like it is generally needs more than 20psi to make full power. You didn't stay on it long enough.

For a reference, stock Cummins 6.7's are up near 40psi at full power.

I think I did what vette did and I didn't near 40. It was held up at 20 granted it was short burst

It won't make full power in short bursts. It's making sure it doesn't blow smoke or blast the transmission so it takes a little while for it to start pumping good.
