Apparently the grand daddy of salt water fly fiahing in La Pete Cooper is losing his battle with the big C and heading to hospice care....



Learned a basket load from the guy, he was always willing to help other fishermen.....


Losing a good one....

That's a bummer. Learned a lot from his works. The man literally wrote the book on fly fishing in South Louisiana.

The guy a legend on fly fishing in Louisiana. He was a super cool guy to meet in person.

yep.... I ran into him on the water behind the sulphur mines(port sulphur) in 80s with my grandfather and he and some other guy were fly fishing for specs...

also used to chat with him at barret browns original shop in westwego.... learned a ton.....

dude made me a better fisherman everytime I talked to him. was really really cool when he complimented me on my son's outdoor ability....

and of course.. him sharing the "push" creek with anyone who would listen....
