This is 15 miles from my place. VDOT is replacing the bridge here and the recent monsoons we've had the last three days sure caused some flooding problems. Construction company had the crane parked on a temporary bridge and the sudden flood washed out the bridge and took the crane, too. All that debris and bottleneck has caused the flooding upstream to be even worse. How much does a crane like that cost? LINK

VDOT brought in a big crane today and finally pulled that other crane out of the river. Now the authorities are trying to figure out who to blame and who is responsible. Glad I don't live downstream from the sewer line that got busted... LINK

If someone had been smart they'd of modded that crane with a sweet snorkel. Wouldn't of missed a beat then.

I agree. And it is also one of the best, most underrated smallmouth fisheries in the country. Perfect for light tackle and a yak.

We got it up here, of course after a few days of nonstop the pond got flooded from runoff the side of East River Mtn...

Here is dad clearing leaves before the runoff makes its way to the pond, notice how the water is right behind him.

It reached the pond just as we cleared out all of the leaves.

It was rolling by the time I reached the hill and was moving five times heavier than this by tomorrow morning.

So now, instead of going to S. La tomorrow I'll be cleaning up the pond for the next week.

Some people got it a lot worse, so I'm not really going to complain that much.

I was on Big Walker and Wolf Creek last week as that's generally where I fish, it's scary thinking a lot or those homes are under water.

That's a nice size crane. Probably little over a $1,000,000.
