I have a 24' deep V hull proline and was interested in running a little offshore out of Venice. Not to far just around 8 miles out of the mouth of the river. Has anyone ever ran this far out in a boat around that size?

No, no one. Yes, you will be amazed at the size, or lack there of, of some of the boats you see out there.

I've seen bass boats out 10+ miles out before.

I've taken our 21ft nautical star 12 miles. Just make sure to keep an eye on forecast

Any boat can get swamped but if you're not going out in heavy seas a deep v center console like that should be fine 8 miles out of Venice.

We've gone out in a 25' deep v cc hydra sport 60 miles. It's a pain in the arse to run in even 2-3' seas with it, but it's doable. Like others have said, just keep an eye on the forecast and make sure you have an emergency plan (and tools, like an EPIRB).

Pick your days. Watch the seas. You can get to the 7 mile rigs easy with that kind of boat.

This can be a tricky question. Venice is a unique place and can either beat you to death or have you stranded on a sand bar or both in a matter of moments. You have to know where you are going in those passes and watch for debris, the danger is not just the open water.

Like others have said, yes, that's enough boat, but the operator determines that as much as the size.

I've been to the 24's in an 18' proline and a 20xpress. I'm an experienced helmsman and probably a little stupid. Aug September are typically glass out of Venice. Check the weather before hand and keep checking it. Venice is tricky with the river. Bring someone with u that knows the river. What looks like water could easily be a couple inches deep and sand

we ran across a rip about 8 miles out one time out of Venice. It was slick calm summer day. Stopped to fish it...caught tons of dorado and saw 2 blues. Was amazed to look up and see flat bottom aluminum boats on it every so often.

Like others have said, you should be fine in your boat. Do your homework before going out.
