This is my neighbor I grew up next to in Bayou Blue. My Mom said they found his boat, but have not located him yet. That doesn't sound good. It's crazy cause he was always on the water and knew that area like the back of his hand. Goes to show that bad things can happen quickly. Here's to hoping they find him alive and well soon.

That's not the first time I've heard someone say that. What is it about that lake that people dislike so much?

For a couple months I've been thinking about springing for one of those auto inflating PFDs. Stories like this reinforce that thought. Wearing standard PFDs can be uncomfortable, especially in the summer. One of those auto inflating things would be easier to wear all the time and could save your life.

It's just a big Lake with no structure, yet fish show up in there every time I'm not there. Supposedly, you drift the lake and blindly cast and limit out every time. Well, BS. I hate that fricking lake.

One morning it was so foggy on Decade I think we kept running in circles getting across the lake. This was before we had gps. Was with my uncle who knew what he was doing, but if I would have had to take over, It wouldn't have been good. Definitely have to know the place

I have fished it like this a few times and we caught fish pretty much every time. Maybe not limits, but we came back with fish in the ice chest. It's more of a winter/early spring spot from my experience.

Our camp is 5min off decade. I really don't see how it could be considered difficult to navigate. Worst case scenario just hug the bank all the way across.

auto inflatable PDF's are not as reliable as old school pdf's. Would you rather comfort or knowing it will work?

Just got an update. Haven't found him yet. Seems like a pretty bleak situation.
