When my dad could not catch them, he bought them. Do not fry, but if you must, do it outside.

We've taken some to a lady we know who also plucks ducks as a side job, just to give you a mental picture. Anyway, those bastards emit some kind of the nastiest slime I've ever seen off a fish. Worse than hard heads and gaftops.

I'm not messing with that when I can catch white perch, trout or catfish to eat.

AlxTgr, is your dad from Avoylles parish by any chance? They love their smothered goo there. My dad was born in Mansura and would turn back flips if I brought him a goo. I hated the smell of the stuff when I was a kid, but if you could get past the smell it tasted really good over rice.

Originally from north St. Landry which is close to both Evangeline and Avoyelles.

Yup. Only reason I no longer cook it is the fact that I'd be going through all that trouble for one person.

Never tried a goo - usually throw them on the bank when I catch one. They do stretch the string on a jig pole.

I'll take a buffalo all day long though.

Alx, you been hitting IC since the water is low?

Not been since Halloween. Can't really explain why. I am guessing all the shallow stuff is over.

I was fishing a tournament on T Bend years ago and was working a Jig-N-Pig on some deep water brush when a goo about 12 pounds hit. Damn for the next 10 min or so I thought I had just won the tourney until I was able to see him. Biggest damn goo I'd ever seen and he was dead shortly afterwards.
