I'm going to pick up a daisy today for my daughter, been trying to figure out if I should go pink or standard brown for a week now? I'm against pink or painted guns for kids simply because they aren't toys to me, but she's young and it's her first one so I'm thinking pink may help her enjoy it more. Thoughts?

I got a pink one for mine. Takes ownership of it a little more.

Ice cubes are fun for kids to target practice on.

I'd go with the pink. She's young and you're trying to get her interested in shooting...if its possible that having her own pink bb gun will make her like it more, go for it.

I don’t think the color makes it shoot any different.

I got mine the pink one last year. She likes that it makes it hers and that it is locked up with my guns. FWIW she is getting a purple bow this year.

if she is into pink things then go pink

if she is a true tom boy then no pink

what you might want to do is just give her a gift card for buying one then let her pick it out with you. i think this is the best way to go since its going to be hers and she might just surprise you how much she puts into the selection of one.

Everything you said. Let her take ownership of her love of guns. Make it fun, safe, and interesting to her. The more she wants to get into firearms, the better you will feel later in life.

My daughter told me the other day that she wanted to get a BB gun to shoot the cat that hurt her cats leg (cat lost a fight and got bitten on the leg and it abcessed...old son couldn't put any weight on it...200 dollars, some antibiotics, and 3-4 days later he was fine)....I was ecstatic and concerned at the same time

ETA Im not buying the gun for her yet.....revenge is a weird reason to buy a 5 year old a BB gun hah

I've taken my 3yr old girl hunting a couple times this year. Every time anybody asks her about it she complains because "daddy doesn't have me a gun yet". So next year she's getting one. I'm gonna let her pick out which one she wants, and I'm almost 100% sure it will be pink. I'll be proud when she does.

My daughter got a Cricket .22 for Christmas at age 3. We shoot it once or twice a month and spend 30 minutes talking gun safety. She’s 8 now and can bullseye all day with it but she heard me tell the story of my greatest Christmas ever as a young boy getting a Red Ryder BB gun. Bought her the pink one last night, can’t wait to see her open it!
