Looks like a good trip. Someone needs to go to Lake Verrett and shoot some. They have millions there.

Do you eat those nasty bastards?

This is from the Trinity River N of Houston. We shot alot more fish, these were just the best ones. We have numerous 80-120lb rolling around just never got a shot. Also took several carp & river suckers.

FWIW out west (laffy/Lake Charles areas) gar fish meat usually sells for more than catfish.

Shot at a few from the bulkhead this weekend. Didn't have the boat with me though. You are correct though they are everywhere

Obviously you havent seen the price of real catfish lately.

Lots of people are selling imported fish and calling it catfish however. There is a real shortage of american raised catfish.

Garfish Boulettes are a true delicacy. If you never tried it, I suggest you find some old Cajun lady to fix some for you just one time and then see what you think!!

I'm talking about filet gar, not on the bone. Now if you want to sell me filet for $2 a pound I can keep you busy.

Yall need to find a profitable outlet for trash fish slurry. just toss all of those gar, pic, carp, ect into a big grinder and dispense as needed.
