Gates!!! and a lot of them, we also all came together and got with the local sheriff offices and they patrol the area pretty heavy. We had problems at first but they eventually gave up on tearing down our gates , we would just build them stronger and bigger. If I am correct I believe we paid around 700/acre

Those are some awesome pics! It's great to see your hard work payoff. Just curious, around how many acres do y'all plant a year? There was recent timber work on our place and we are trying to decide if we want to add more food plots.

Not to be a dick but you sure you don't mean $1700. $700 is cheap as frick even for 6 years ago.

If not, you stole that shite

That's a damn good price for what appears to be some nice land there.

Wow. If we could find 200-500 acres of decent land for < $1k, we'd go sign the paperwork tomorrow.

Where did they find the land? Realtor, paper, knew the seller?

There's not a lot out there < $1000, but there is some if you'll watch. I know of a tract that just sold in LaSalle for about $1,100 that had timber ready to sell.

Oh and great job on the management, I'm pretty sure I know the place.

eta......I do know it. Doesn't seem like a place that would hold ducks, till you look at the geography on a larger scale.

Awesome to see. We are big time bowhunters and turkey hunters in my family, and we bought our first farm 3 years ago. Since much of it was completely wooded, I got to "design" how the entire property lays myself. Roads, food plots, thickets, clearcuts, thinned timber, etc. etc. We've put thousands of hours of work in over the past few years. We work more on improvements than we actually hunt it, but thats how I like it. Lots of work on food plots and timber stands. Things are finally starting to settle down where we can enjoy hunting with friends and family. We've killed several nice bucks, plenty of does, and four gobblers off of it in the past two seasons. Been working very hard this summer on food plots (6 acres of soybeans), located several nice bucks, and looking forward to October to get in the woods!

Same here we have spent way more hours working than actually hunting and it's a never ending battle but I love every minute of it. We spend countless hours preparing for hunting season wether it's food plots or clearing trails, but it's such a great feeling when you watch them grow and finally shoot that big boy

Looks really nice! You have something to be proud of for sure, especially since your grandpa and dad got it started. Lots of memories to be made on your own place. Congrats!!
