Pet fish thread got me thinking, what kinds of interesting pets do you guys keep? Everyone has dogs, and cats are a waste of oxygen. What other animals do you consider worthy of pet status?

Dogs.

And that's it.

All other pets suck. Especially monkeys. Anybody who owns a monkey sucks

Me and my son caught a scorpin while cutting firewood at the deer lease. It currently sits in a tank in his room and eats about 3 crickets a week..

Pretty cool animal to watch.

I had a "pet" squirrel when I was younger. I found it in the woods when it was a baby and took care of it. It lived on our backporch for awhile before it remembered that it was a squirrel and left. I cried for like 3 days.

I've had squirrels, coons, wild hogs, alligators, hedgehogs, snakes, and even a baby wood duck for a couple hours.

No time for it anymore. Haven't had anything but a dog for years.

I caught a snake when I was young, that was an interesting creature to watch. Obviously a dog is the only option for a companion pet, but I have a parrot that provides a good bit of entertainment and isn't much upkeep.

Had several pet deer when I was younger. Raised them all up and sent them to a deer farm that was right down the road from my parents house.

Sounds like someone is jealous because he can't have a little primate friend.

Seriously though, monkeys are crazy. I can't imagine having one as a pet. My dads friend had a spider monkey when I was younger and it was notorious for biting, scratching, pulling hair and eating anything it could get its hands on.

I had a chameleon before I moved to BR. It was badass watching her eat. The colors she would show when outside were incredible. She was extremely hard to take care of.

I know a guy that was squirrel hunting and shot some kind of monkey.
There was a group of them, and they were in a very remote area.

I considered getting a chameleon awhile back, then I read some articles about caring for them and decided against it. Way too hard to provide the right environment for them.
