Good morning gents.

I've been reading TD for a long time for information on the Tigers and I really enjoy the OB threads. You guys are very knowledgeable and I have learned quite a bit. I probably won't post that much, but I'll chime in if I can be helpful. So, a little about me.

Bowhunting is my passion. I hunt Clear Creek WMA a lot and I hunt two different properties in SE Oklahoma totaling about 550 acres. I used to hunt Cat Island, Tensas, Lake Ophelia a bunch also.

I love shooting-have built several AR's, reload .223 and 300 BO, and have a couple suppressors.

That's about it for now. One thing I wanted to mention since we are about to start climbing trees...make sure you are tied off 100% of the time. There's a video floating around of hunters falling out of stands and I for one don't want to be paralyzed or dead. I use a rock climbing harness myself.

I have two very old Glocks, a 22 and 27. I shoot both them great. I would like to buy a 1911 one day.

Preferred rifle and caliber--I guess my .300 BO SBR with the Omega. It's just a blast to shoot. I don't own any hunting rifles, except .22s

I've got a dumbarse friend that was using an old climber. He fell off, harness snapped, he landed on a barbwire fence. Stitches across his side and on his back. Dude could not do anything comfortably for a while and he got super lucky it wasn't worse.

I'm not really a hunter, more into the fishing thing, but this has certainly been my experience here. I do chime in occasionally, way less snarky responses on the OB.

collared dogs running loose on your lease...
shoot on sight, or remove collars and then shoot on sight?

I have found it so much easier to get the collars off dogs once they're already dead.

Why not? You can switch to a crossbow.

How do you fall off a climber?

agreed but the OB decree is that a collar is bulletproof

If you shoot them just run them over in the road. Don't worry about taking the collar off. Nobody looks for bullet holes in flattened dogs.

This is purely theoretical, and I would never harm an innocent animal, especially one as lovely as a dog.
