The Bahamas are not nice pretty clean places. There are pockets of wealth but it's largely impoverished.

Their economy would dry up like your girlfriend after calling her the wrong name if rich folks stopped paying $15 for a conch salad after spending all day trying catch a-hole fish that they can't even eat.

Awesome post. I'm like you and try to research as much as possible before a trip. It's always rewarding when it all comes together
