I've got some non-pigeon mourning doves hanging out eating stuff in my yard, and I want to eat them. They look like doves I've shot in the woods and eaten. Don't eat trash or anything, just seeds under trees and in the yard.

Should I go for it?

This is exactly what they look like

At least somebody's got some doves in Louisiana this year...

Worst dove season in my life this year.

I posted that they are not pigeons and only eat seeds around my yard. If they were dirty arse pigeons I'd agree, but these aren't

They all moved to Metairie man. Looks like I've got to check on the pellet gun this afternoon

the doves have been heavy in my bird feeders last couple weeks. as many as a dozen on the ground at one time in my yard. I've been fattening them up with handfuls of cracked corn. Pellet rifle, bacon, and good to go.

I'm gonna be busy as hell this week, but will try and get at them one morning. They are only around my place in the morning

I'm going to be honest with you, every time I see a dove in my yard I think of this. I don't think there's anything wrong with them in terms of how good they would be to eat. Like you said all they eat is nuts and seeds and stuff in the yard. Good luck getting them without getting busted tho.

I was walking around in the attic of the dock at my folks' in the rigolets one weekend.

I saw a dove up there, and grabbed a net and caught him.

Took him downstairs and breasted that nerd. Ate him that night.

Just wanted to try it. They're good. Delicious. lmao

What kind of commie country we living in where I can't kill a bird in my own damn yard?

Hopefully Trump will fix this

Trump will fix it.

He'll make dove hunting within city limits great again.

Yes and we need pics of the harvest. I shot one of those big bastards (ring neck?) in grade school with a pellet gun. Feathers flew everywhere and it took off. Still haunts me.

I had a house under the Perkins Road overpass during college and we ate a lot of pigeons and they were good with a side of ramen.

As long as the OP doesn't post the killing spree on FB or scream like a schoolgirl after every kill, I would think it would be damn near impossible to get busted.
