Not from Larry but....

I've talked to folks in all corners of the state and for many if not all that were out and about this week - they saw the most "pre-christmas" ducks they have see. Couple that with another bruising front coming through lots of tired dawgs next week...

of course I didn't make a single hunt in first split, but those that did in my blinds had the most productive first split ever this year both quality and quantity. Hopefully I can make it in the am.

They haven't been in SE Arkansas since the last big front in any appreciable numbers. I think the drought has forced a lot of birds to keep moving south to find water or in the case of mallards hug the freeze line up in Kansas-Iowa-Missouri. This weekend will be interesting to see how good the LA opener is.

I hunted one weekend the first split and there were more birds than we saw all last season on our lease. Mostly teal but a limit of ducks is a limit of ducks IMO.

Awesome, I think Sunday will be better than tomorrow, but I'm going to hunt both days.

Lots of birds in the ponds off of I-49 North of Shreveport. It's gonna be nasty this weekend for those guys.

Push them down

Went Wednesday morning and this morning and didn't pull the trigger..
Could have wiped out a merganser family but really didn't wanna go through the hassle of wading out to retrieve them then stomp them in the mud.
