How far is the boat ride? Where is the best place to launch?

No idea but I hear it gets pretty packed out there. So be careful

There are several launches to use but the easier boat ride is to launch at calumet right off highway 90 and it's a straight ride into wax lake area. The boat ride is roughly 15-20 minutes.

Seems like the most successful hunters there go all the way into the bay, which is 13 miles. There are sandbars everywhere so be ready to do some pushing. Lots of ducks though, I've had some fantastic hunts on the wax

I can't wait to go out there I think I see where you are talking about launching, right by the highway 90 bridge. Do most people hunt in the delta, or do they get on the edges kind of in the bays?

It's a good haul. We usually pull the godevil behind our bay boat then anchor out onto a sand bar and use the godevil to go further.

Never hunted there on a weekend, always a week day. Shot lots of canvasback pintail wegion and mallard

I'm not a wax lake expert but hunt delta and if you've never been out there go with someone with wl experience or go during day light so you can scout. Place can be dangerous

I know the tides fall really fast out there, I guess you just have to go to figure it out. Do they typically fall during hunting hours?
