Traveling back north from NOLA yesterday, I noticed about 10 duck blinds in a pond off the side of the I-10 brige at mile marker 217.

Do those guys just shoot each other all morning? They looked like they were 30 yards apart.

Was always curious about blinds in the Atchafalaya in the various lakes, is there an unwritten rule not to use someone else's blind? Are they fair game?

Depends on if they are sitting on public or private waterways...

I drive by those things all the time and wonder the same thing. If they are open to the public it must be a war zone out there...

Sort of.

By law they are. Might get your tires slashed however if you pick the wrong one. LDW&F are trying to combat this in certain areas, with some success. Basically by outlawing the permanent blinds.

I've hunted with a buddy who is a member of that lease before. The blinds are farther apart than they look. They kill a good bit of teal, greys, and scaup.

They have that camp right there by the bridge, too. I think there's a waiting list a mile long to get in the lease being it's close to New Orleans and BR.
