Drop Shot Rig Tangling

I have been fishing recently with drop shot rig. I take about a three foot piece of 30# mono. I tie an overhand knot for a loop with the hook being about 2/3rds the way up from the sinker. The line with the hook continually wraps around the line with the sinker.
Any suggestions for a better version?
This is similar to what I use, I do not put beads in the loop.

Not really understanding your setup there, but a drop-shot doesnt have a loop. Tie a palomar direct to the hook, slip the long tag end (however long you want it to be off the bottom) through the eye of the hook and tie the weight to the tag end. There should not be any extra line to wrap around itself.

What are you using this for? Snapper?
Either way, they make 3 way swivels that are used for this.

As stated a true drop shot has no tether line to the hook. Hook is tied directly to line with a long tag line going to sinker.

I would just use a Carolina rig. Something like you're making I use for larger rigs with crimped mono.

Try a 40# leader. The stiffer line should prevent twisting.

I use what youre talking about when i fish deeper water or on the bottom inshore and i never have had problems w tangling. i use 15 or 20 pound pline floroclear which is what i use for leaders.

People that I know that fish drop shot use fluorocarbon.
Personally I'd rather tie a string to my toe with a cork than fish drop shot.
