May be wise to sit and see what happens with the Lake Charles/SWLA area before heading to Texas. Lots more to go with this storm.

CBS' coverage of this has been pretty insane.

My son left this morning and is on site now. He is a young fella but I trust him to make good judgement or I wouldn't let him go. Using a flat bottom with jet drive. Been on the water all his life.

I did similar things in my younger days. Helped with the F4 that hit Arkadelphia, AR in 97. I was the same age as him and it really opened my eyes to what can happen.

I am waiting until Friday to see what happens here first. I will be brining a truck and trailer load of water and bread wherever I go though.

I always worry about knowing where to go and if flooded roads would stop me from getting to areas really needing help.

We saved a lot of people in the Columbia flood 2 years ago. I was just thinking about calling a crew and heading down there since this shite is going to be much worse.

Trust me. If you can imagine it. There will be nothing more satisfying in your life than pulling a 7 year old girl out of her second story bedroom because she is drowning.

The Lone Star Navy does not discriminate. Any LA baws show up with boats to help would be greatly appreciated. Even jacked up trucks are useful, even if they have truck nutz.

Yea that's part of what makes it dangerous. On your own turf you know where is a safe place to leave your truck while you go out. Somewhere unknown you might come back to find water up to your door handles and become stuck there yourself.

At least that's what would worry me the most.

Anyone that ends up over there, if you need supplies or contacts, post it up and we can see what the board can muster...

If you know anyone that needs assistance.
You can get in touch directly with the rescuers by downloading the Zello push-to-talk app and search for the channel called: "The Cajun Navy". It works like a walkie talkie. There is 180 people on that channel, standing by, ready to assist.

Yeah, would love to go help, but I don't know Houston at all. Afraid I'd get lost, or stuck. If anyone is very familiar with the city, can navigate, and willing to go, I'm in. Otherwise, I'll lend a hand during clean up. No sense in adding to the list of people to rescue.

What's going on over there right now? Katrina-esque stuff with people stranded on rooftops everywhere and overpasses and stuff?
