Do I have a leveling kit? Which shocks/struts to buy?

I drive an '05 F150. I bought it several years ago. I need to replace the struts and shocks. I've always assumed it probably had a leveling kit on it, but I don't know jack about them. The stance just seems a little more level than other F150's (not doing that nose-dive thing). But, like I said, I don't know. Anyway, will this affect which shocks/struts I buy, and if so, how can I tell if I have a leveling kit?
Basically, I don't know what a leveling kit is.

If you have a circular block above the spring and shock that goes under the mounting point then yes, you have a leveling kit
Will look like this...

OK, thanks. So, there's just one kind, right? Not like lift kits which can be springs, body, shackles, etc. etc.
If I DO, can I still buy oem shocks/struts?

Just some deductive reasoning here:
If you don't know what a leveling kit is, then you aren't gonna be replacing the shocks and struts yourself.
Which means you're gonna have it done at a shop.
So, drive the truck to the shop, and tell the guy what you want. He will then inspect the truck, and give you some options in real time.

Wrong.
I'm not a complete mechanical idiot. I just don't have any experience with leveling kits. I'm just trying to make sure I order parts that will fit.

You can replace with factory sized shocks if you have a level kit.
Another option is to buy height adjustable shocks for the front and ditch the level kit...if you want to keep the look.
Bilstein 5200s are pretty common, price goes up from there.

Awesome. Thanks.

its 5100 but you get the idea. Also measure the rake of the truck from center of hub to fender well. should be about 2" on the ford. Thats what my f150 factory rake is.

Correct. It's simply a block between the spring retainer and the mount

What DSD and Pickle said. You can. Or you can replace with a shock that is adjustable.

A picture of your truck would do a lot of good here
Also getting the bottom of the strut back into the A-arm can be a bish if you have the leveling kit. Having the right tools is key. Something to compress the coil on your struts.

a leveling kit could also be the spring replaced with a bigger spring.

There are 2 types of leveling kits FYI. The one posted above and a U-shaped block that sits between the shock and lower A-arm at the mounting point. Google rough country if you need a pic.

I hope you don't. Leveling kits are for Cucks.

Damn it, man! Don't complicate this for me!
But, I have enough info now to figure out what I'm doing. I appreciate all the responses.

IF your paying someone else to do the job get the adj shocks. Its not that much more expensive than the level kit and its a better ride. I put Defender Pro shocks on my Tundra. I couldn't find any Bilsteins in stock at the time I did mine. The ride is very nice and I went up 2.5 inches on the front.
