I am having some issues with my neighbor. There are 4 dogs on the back side of yard that are ape shite and it gets my dog fired up as well. He has called the police twice (i haven't been home either time) and says if it happens again then we are going to court.

I have a blood hound mix and his bark is very hound like. He doesn't bark often unless those other dogs are barking. If i get a bark shock collar, will this help the problem? The other neighbor with 4 dogs told the guy to frick off basically but i want to do what i can to at least take care of mine.

suggestions are appreciated and TIA

I am with the neighbor that told him to frick off, but as long as the batteries are in good shape, bark collars have worked for me on a lab and basset.

they have worked for my parents dogs in the past, but this was just barking inside for no reason. not sure if it would help with barking at other dogs and if it doesn't stop it then it might just be cruel to have him shocked constantly.

They do make collars that shoot citronella at their face when they bark which might be better.

are these collars triggered by the audible sound of a barking dog or some movement in the dogs throat? I don't want the other dogs barking and that causing to light mine up.

There is an ordinance where i live that would require us to go to court to explain why my dog is barking. If the reason is insufficient then they can take him. I am not sure what a sufficient reason would be or not

Must look at dogs knuckles first to know for sure if it will work

I have the D. T. Systems Ultra Min-E 2090 No-Bark Training Collar - $50 and it works like a charm on my labkin if you keep the battery fresh. The batteries seem to last about 2 months and cost $8 for 2 of them which isn't bad. It has 8 levels of setting and is only triggered by vibration from the dogs throat.

The only downside is that if the dogs rubs up against something with its neck, it will go off. Scratching at it does not set it off though.

Redfield, I'm also currently having a problem with my dog barking. It's not all the time but I get a text from my neighbor (friend of mine) about once or twice a week saying he's barking in the back yard (while I'm at work) which is most likely out of boredom. Also, he will bark at other dogs, but not continuously. I'm buying one of the Garmin products probably next week and hopefully it will work. He's extremely stubborn so I hope it works. I'll let you know how it works.

that sounds like a terrible place to live, to go to court to explain why dogs do dog things.

I have a lab/great dane mix that barks like a fool sometimes. I need to look into something like this too. I have heard about the citronella ones but I don't want to come home to my dog reeking and full of oil.

I know this one does.

Plus it has replaceable batteries. They last about 6 months. Also the thing is smart - it starts itself low and ups the pressure until there is no barking. Sportdog is a fairly good brand as well.

Yes, they work.

Just be careful not to have them too tight or leave them on for extended periods. I used to leave one on my dog at all times and the probes ended up cutting through the skin and caused an infection.

Now I put it on him right before going to bed and take it off first thing in the morning.

Frick that homo, let ur dog bark if he wants to bark!

Buy a pinch collar and correct the dog when it does it at home.

I don't believe in shock collars
