Thinking about getting into some woodworking to make some acadian-style pieces for my house. Where would I be able to find some cypress around BR? Also is there a source where you can look up plans, or will I be on my own? I have a basic idea of how to build tables, etc. and the acadian style is very utilitarian, but some guidance would be nice.

TIA

Use google....you can find plans.

The key is having the right tools for the job.

I always get mine at Acadian Cypress and Hardwoods in Ponchatoula.

There's also a place in Baker, Cajun Cypress, and another in Maringouin, Cypress Wood & Lumber

Are you wanting to purchase premilled lumber or more rough cut?

What type of tools do you have?

Looking for something already milled. I basically want to cut/nail/finish.
