Custom flat boat pricing

So I have been looking around for a 14-16 all-weld side console flat with around a 40hp on it. Figured with the price of oil there would be some good deals to be had but havent come across anything good yet. On top of that this is a boat I plan to probably have forever and I am not a big fan of used shite so I was thinking of possible getting new. After looking at prices for G3s, Trackers, etc I am thinking I may be better off just getting a boat made custom locally. Anyone know how the prices would fare in comparison and have any recommendations on a maker. I know there is the guy in Hammond that does them, not sure how his pricing or quality is. Will be used for duck hunting, frogging and river running. TIA

Im in the same position as you. Want a 17 or 18 foot CC, looked at G3,express, alweld, ect... Starting to think it may be better to have one built. Keep us posted on what you find out/decide.

go with an 18x54 for a CC. Ours is perfect for fishing and hunting. not a good picture but here it is showing the width with the CC. Plenty of room to walk around inside the boat even with the cat walks down the sides.

I have a 19' hull and a 70hp Johnson.
I was wondering what it was worth.
So sounds like I should be able to get $1k for it.
It's decent, needs repaint and all, but I got that motor running great. Boat hasn't seen water since 2008, but I start it up every so many months.
Why don't I use it? No numbers on the hull, I got it from a farmer who used it on his land and never knew it was this hard to register a boat that has no numbers.

hijack,
that's a Gator tail boat, right?
1) did the paint start to fade on it?
2) my buddy has the 18x60 with the rod boxes on both sides built in, was looking to put a console. you have any problems walking around or just use the cat walks?

yes

not that I have noticed, but its under a roof all the time

no problem walking around but when I'm fishing I stay on the catwalks mostly, so its not a problem
eta: the catwalks are my favorite feature of the design. I can have an ice chest or 2 in front of the console and never have to step down in the boat for anything, and they are great to sit on and lay my rods on

That looks strangely similar to mine. Minus the catwalk and front deck
