Yea there's way more douchewagons out there now than shite people are actually using.
The F250 diesel with lift and 37's on 22's is the token douchewagon of south Louisiana.
I personally can't wait to get a 7" lift on my rig with some Q78 swampers

Whatever you do, adjust the headlights appropriately. Don't be that douchebag blinding everyone, who is too ignorant to realize it.

Some assholes think that blinding people on the road is cool.

Thinking about getting a 6" lift and 35's.
If you had bought a Ford like a true baw, you could have fit 35's with just a leveling kit.

I would love a small lift on my tundra for ground clearance and I think it looks great. However, I just went with a leveling kit and slapped some bigger tires on it. Truck looks great, more clearance, and I'm not out a couple of grand.

6" lift is just screaming that you are an attention whore.
That said, you didn't mention that it was 4WD. I would have to assume it is because if its not, putting a 6" lift, or frankly any "lift" beyond simple leveling is just dumb.
With a 6" lift, you will likely have to replace at least one of the drive shafts. Not 100% sure on that, but it is definitely something you need to look at.
The lift itself is not what throws off the speedo. Not familiar with the gearing in a Sierra, but anytime you go from factory tires and gears up to larger tires, you're going to lose torque. You may need to loo at that.

My hunting truck (2001 Silverado) had a 6" suspension lift with 35s. In addition to the lift I second the gear ratio change. I installed 4.88. A 4.53 was also considered. I also used a simple programmer to adjust the speedo. With 4.88 gears and the programming adjustment the truck handled fairly well. I didn't have any problems other than normal wear and tear. What limited damage/repair that I had to do on the truck was directly related to its use off road.
The biggest challenge I had with it was that my wife hated climbing in and out of it. Which isn't always a bad thing. I loved that truck. Sold it because I moved to a bustling metropolis and had to pause my outdoor enthusiasms.
Having said that and without knowing your intended use of the truck I would rather get a good winch and tires on a stock truck before putting a lift on it. If you're going all in (my total bill after it was all said and done was $7.5K) Be prepared for a lot of creep (the 1.25 factor is good).

Based on what I've done on my Tacoma, i'd go with some sort of adjustable strut with stronger coils up front to get 2-3 (level) vs. getting a spacer, that is IF you're planning to get it dirty. If just for show, I guess the spacer would be OK for level. I'm not a fan of the diff drop bracket lifts, I personally think the look like shite. Also, buy a balljoint press NOW.

Dropping the differential is the right way to do it and technically if you pick the front up 2" you should drop the diff 2"
They definitely look like shite and changing all that stuff out for a solid axle is the way to do it if the goal is maximum off road capability. For what that costs though, you can just buy an extra truck.

I saw a truck like this in LC a few weeks ago. I thought there was just that he used shitty parts. I didn't realize it was a thing.

I have a tundra and want to do the same. What size tires did you get? How much did they charge you to level it?

I'm pretty sure most of them "realize it".

Yeah a solid axle swap will run several thousands. I toyed with the idea for a Toyota swap and I figured all in to do it right with tires, gears, axles would be 10k or so if I did all my own work
Posted on 5/15/17 at 4:04 pm to jimbeam
I came up somewhere around ~$10k to do mine also. You could buy a damn good used 3/4 ton truck that already has straight axles for that and still have a good bit left over to supe it up
Posted on 5/15/17 at 4:08 pm to DownshiftAndFloorIt
Exactly. Was gonna make a rock crawler but for 10k I could buy an outfitted YJ that's ready to go
