OK, backstory:

House is about two years old (yeah, I should have sealed it)
Shower has large ceramic tiles with light gray grout.
Some of the the grout lines that are underneath the shower head have developed a slight, pinkish tinge.

So far, I have tried:

Bleach.
Tilex Grout pen.
Muratic acid.
Broken up chlorine tablets pushed into grout lines, let set overnight.

Would like to get it back clean and then seal it.

Any suggestions?

i bet if you took one of those little grout "saws" and knocked off just a little it would take off the pink tint

This is easy. Just did a lot of my floors pretty quickly. Make a paste with baking soda and water and apply to grout. Spray with vinegar from a spray bottle. Let sit for 5 mins and scrub with grout brush. Should come right clean.

Arm & Hammer Scrub Free Mildew Stain Remover

If that fails: get the highest concentrate Hydrogen Peroxide you can find...expensive, but gives good results.

I've had the same form on sealed grout and bleach, based cleaning spray has always taken it off.

Baking soda is a good abrasive cleaner, it mixed with vinegar should work too

Oxy clean

Steam cleaning will work if you have one, or you can pay Stanley steamer to do it.

The wife mixed baking soda and regular peroxide into a slurry to clean with over the weekend. Stuff over cleaned the groat and bleached the color from it, test in a small area first.

Foaming carpet cleaner. Let sit for 10 mins, don't let it sit so long that the foam goes away, and scrub with a stiff nylon brush. I was amazed what it did for mine.

Rock Doctor Tile and Grout Cleaner

Avaliable at Lowe's.

Had the same thing on the little subway tiles in our shower- house about a year old- absolutely freaked me out. Light grey grout as well- made me think we didn't clean our house well.

Spray it on, scrub judiciously with a stiff bristle brush and it comes off like magic.

Just re grout the area. They make power tools for this specific reason. The hand tool will kill your hands. Grout is like $10. This is a really simple solution. I just re grouted my entire bathroom. The tile goes half way up the way.
