What would be the best bang for my buck on a Turkey Choke tube, or would my Full Choke for my Super Nova work just fine? I've never been turkey hunting, and am finally getting a chance to this year, pretty pumped about it.

It depends on what load you are shooting. They'll all act a little different.

But to answer your question, I have the same gun and I shoot Hevishot 3.5" Magnum Blend. I have been shooting a jellyhead for the past 2 years. I just received a Patternmaster Code Black in the mail 2 days ago. I'm going to shoot it this weekend to see what it does.

You are going to hear a lot of people say certain chokes are "better" than others. The truth is, some are better for certain hunters than others. It depends on where you are hunting and your skill level. If you are hunting a lot of wide-open fields or open forests, and are not very experienced, you may need a choke that has a tighter pattern to extend your range a little. You'll also end up shooting at turkeys significantly farther than you should when you are starting out. It's hard to refrain from pulling the trigger on one when he's hung up at 75yds, but you should. This tight pattern will leave you with little room for error on close shots. I prefer a choke with a relatively consistent pattern from 20-40 yds, since a lot of the turkeys I shoot are close. I don't want to miss them.

Your full choke will be fine, and will affect your kill rate at about 1.897% as a beginning turkey hunter. Get an experienced turkey hunter to take you on your place to start with, otherwise you'll likely just be educating the turkeys and possibly pissing off the other people who hunt on your place. It's not like they show it on TV. Think like a turkey, not like a TV turkey hunter.

If he ain't too far full choke will be fine. I shoot me with my extended range patternmaster. No reason to take that thing out.

Very good advice. I actually patterned my gun with a few different chokes and loads before i settled on one combination.

Thanks for the advice.

The hunt I'm going on is with a guide, so hopefully I can learn a lot about some turkeys that weekend.

I shoot Hevi Shot Magnum Blends with a Hevi 13 choke. Never had an issue putting Turkeys down with them.
