Anyone ever go on a charter trip for reds and the captain not bring any bait? Live or dead?

Yes. You throw spoons and plastics.

Gulp shrimp or DOA?

You really don't need live bait for redfish.

Did you skunk with a captain who brought no bait? If so, who, where and when?

Yup. Capt Josh Ellendar out of Dularge. We always throw plastics for trout and spinners for reds. Did very well each time.

All depends on what time of the year you go honestly. My favorite time to fish is late spring and fall/winter as plastics are just fine. Summer months I don't leave the dock without some bait shrimp or crabs just incase.

Just let the guy know beforehand that you would like to have bait, this will be an extra cost which is why they dont always bring with them but if you don't get to fish alot than whats an extra $20 for bait.
