Canopy tents

Need one for tailgating. Just saw a 10x10 one for $60. Is that a good deal or is it going to be shite since every other canopy tent I see is smaller and for triple the price. Also, a lot of the tents I see online don't have an entrance height. I'm a tall dude, I really don't want to have to be ducking down all day.

I bought a 13x13 last week from academy for $70. I thought that was a good deal.

FWIW, I paid about $60 at Dick's last year for a cheap canopy just to have for small family functions. For tailgating I'd probably not skimp and spend some more $. Academy and Walmart had some on sale recently if your interested in looking there.

all measurements mentioned are useless without the shade sqft. some are fricking 12x12's with only 81 sq ft.

I bought a coleman 13x13 at Costco for a little over $100 and it's seems to be really sturdy.

better brand: Quik shade or EZ Up?

I have an EZup thats about 10 years old. I've been very happy with it. Had one piece break last time I used it, but repalcement parts are reasonable on their website.

You get what you pay for in canopies, most brands have different levels as well. with a $60 unit I wouldnt expect to last more than one season, and sometimes might not even last a season

Go Coleman. Most of the other ones are pieces of shite. I have the 10 X 10. Its awesome and has withstood many rains and winds.

Is slanted to be avoided at all costs?
I'm a little concerned because I don't know where I would use it. It seems like spike are needed for slanted and there are definitely places where spikes aren't allowed

I dont have any experience with slanted, but most of the higher end units are straight leg.

You can always use something weighted to hold them down. I rarely use spikes, but thats mostly because the ground in Auburn is hard as nails.

it minimizes your sqft shade area.

I have a EZup and it has done well. Have been contemplating getting 10x30
We have a block party 2-3 times a year, just wonder about the quality.
