Gonna be down in Cancun in May and looking to book a charter (sailfish maybe?)I understand the fishing can be great.... or you can get ripped off. Does anyone have any personal experience with someone down there they could recommend?

Sailfish bite is extremely seasonal. Happening now through April.

Short ferry ride to Isla mujeres for fishing is the way to go in my opinion. I wish I had a name I could give you

My dad caught a 10 ft 400+ lb blue marlin in cancun by complete luck. Cheap charter that was trolling not very far out and they were catching blackfin tuna. He caught a small one and asked the guide if he could hook it and throw it back out. Bam, nice marlin. Was the first marlin that boat had ever caught.

We caught these the 1st week of June a few years ago. Went through Chac Chi Marina.

Thanks Lead, I have discovered that Isla Mujures is the place to go and Keen M is the standard bearer for billfish charters. Have the trip booked!
