Can you buy just the engine attachment portion of a weed eater/edger?

Engine on my 2-stroke combo edger/weedeater died. Cost to repair not worth doing vs. buying a new one. I don't need a new weed eater, just a new engine attachment.

Thoughts?

Husquvarna but the attachments are comparable with about 5 or 6 brands.

Just buy the engine with a different attachment. May I suggest a pole saw?

Throw it away and buy a whole new unit. You'll be money and time ahead.

Yep. I had one of those 2-cycle weedeaters, with an edger attachment and hedge trimmer attachment. It died on me. Bought a Husq 4-cycle and my old attachments work. Wish I had got the pole saw.

The attachments are universal. No need to waste money on new ones...

Yep. Found one this afternoon. Existing attachments worked great with them.
