You can't go wrong with any VX2 or VX3 these days. There are numerous scope manufacturers that have not only caught up with, but surpassed Leupold these days, however.

Price is a consideration, of course, but Chicken's loaded. I'm just saying that overbuying is a bad habit, regardless of who you are.

How many old rich dudes are out there with $6500 Weatherbys and $4500 Leupolds and can't shoot any better than Billy Bob with a Winchester Model 70 and a $100 Simmons?

The lifetime warranty and customer service of Leupold is pretty well known to be great.

I know of a few guys that got pawn shop Leupold scopes that had a few issues, sent them in and got refurbished or brand new scopes with no questions asked......

Fin, what does this mean:

4.5x14x50

I see there are several options

First 2 numbers are zoom, it can be adjusted from 4.5x zoom to 14x

last number is objective lens size in mm

VX-6 will probably be my next scope in 2-12x42 with a 30mm tube, but I told my wife that'd probably be my last one. I want a 30mm tube but don't like how high you cheek is off the stock with a larger 50mm+ objective.

Depending on your budget the VX-2 and VX-3 are good buys, but if for that kind of money Meopta is a better buy in my opinion.

How much money do you want to spend?

Leupold has options from $200 to $2000.

If you want a very good scope for a good price, a VX3 3-10x40mm is pretty much the perfect deer rifle scope for most people IMO.

You priced Mark 6s lately, DS?

Try $4,500 (some of 'em, anyway.)

Get the 50mm. Let's a ton more light in than the 40. I own both. I'll never buy a 40 again.
