Does anyone have any experience with this? I've never fished for them, but they're delicious and I'm wanting to give it a try. There are a bunch of rivers around me and I'm about 2 hours from Lake Erie. I'm just not sure how to go about it. I'd be fishing out of a kayak.

I'm in the same boat. Just moved to OKC and the lakes around here are stocked with some walleye and saugeye but I have no clue how to target them other than knowing crankbaits and night crawlers seem to be popular choices.

Went on a few trips on Lake Erie. Good eats but they don't fight much. Was disappointed when it feels like you snagged a wet towel only to get it boat side and it's 24-27".

Ya I've heard people jig for them a lot of times, but that's about all I've heard.

Graphing is important

Troll crankbaits

My brother trolls the shite out of Beaver Lake in Arkansas for Walleye and Stripers. I will come back with more info later today.

Well you aren’t fishin walleye from a yak on L erie ..... you should be able to get post spawn fish in rivers in late spring, jigs w/ a worm or leech or erie dearie work too. Then they move out and chase bait all summer/fall. They do fight like a wet towel but taste like flounder/grouper. On big lakes you have to troll and find the depth they are feeding at, they are no fun to catch but are tasty.

Like Nado I fish 90% of time for smallmouth and will chase perch nearshore (a small walleye) but trolling for walleye I just don't get it

Only by boat. He usually trolls at 2mph, so I bet it could be done with a kayak yet tiring.

I've fished for walleye once in Washington State on the Columbia River. The way we did it was to find steep drops along the bank (like where the river had cut a canyon) and jigged along side the rocks to about twenty feet out. We did pretty good that day. A fish finder will help to locate where they are hanging.

Pitt. We went with a guide on a big arse boat and fished ledges in 24-36 feet of water. Always with dark jigs.

On phone. That was probably our worst trip with 5-6 people. Only me andy buddy from bureaux bridge caught everything. Our customers didn't even know how to hold a rod much less cast or feel the bite

Leave me alone with my white nikes.
