I heard it gets rid of that scratching noise from the tube completely.

we put a quiet capture system in a Daniel and it cracked the the receiver. Daniel replaced it and it cracked that one too. the guys at daniel were laughing their asses off saying that that has literally never happened before

be careful. Just get a regular buffer spring and grease it up and it helps a ton

Do you need separate stamps for SBR and the can or will one take care of both?

Just got the ok from the spouse to build one.

need separate stamps for each, unless you go the integral suppressor route.

What does the integral suppressor entail?

Monroe.

I looked at the integrally suppressed rifles. While they may work for some, I want the option to throw the can on other guns.

permanently attached suppressor. If you put a can on a 10.5in barrel and permanently affix it, then, assuming the total length comes out to 16" or above, it just needs 1 stamp

Correct me if I'm wrong gentlemen, but, it is essentially pinned to that barrel. So the overall length is over 16" with the suppressor you don't need a sbr tax stamp. Just a tax stamp for the suppressor. But, since it's pinned on that barrel, you can't use the suppressor on any other barrel or gun.

So, would you need to just buy an upper with integral suppressor or could you build it? How would you need to permanently attach it? Pinning it I assume?

ETA. Would both stamps go under a single trust? Can multiple weapons go under a single trust?

Multiple stamps on one trust is perfectly fine. I'm not sure about pinning the barrel yourself or if that's something you have to buy.

Pretty interesting Carson. Where was the weak point and which receiver are you talking about? I would assume you're referring to the small section of the lower receiver where it enlarges to accept the buffer tube.

So totally worth $130 bucks?

And will it work with commercial tubes? I'm running a Rock River lower. I can get a milspec tube if it's needed though.

Same here. Inquiring minds need to know about these silent buffers.

That should not have happened. Have you heard of this happening elsewhere? Quick google lends no results.

To me it definitely was. Not sure about the commercial tube compatibility, and I can't find find anything saying it is or isn't (compatible).

I was always told to go longer if you plan on suppressing it. lets the gas travel a little further so it doesn't put too much pressure on the can.

Yeah - I think you need to consider the gas system length for any of the SBR or pistol builds for this reason - one should always go with the longest gas system that will fit your final build specs - IMHO - because that is going to generate your best overall performace. At a certain point, especially with pistols, you're going to have a make compromises on the gas system. Somewhat ironically, the shorter you go, the more suppression you're likely to need - just to manage the flash.
