When I was at Tech, the KA's used to fire their cannon after touchdowns. They would wad up paper and stick it down the barrel which came out as confetti. Well one game they they were especially liquored up and they must have shoved something besides paper down the barrel because when the shot the cannon (towards the student side) they blew a couple of rows of bleachers up. This was about halfway up in the 25 yard line and nobody was hit. It would have killed some folks anywhere but Ruston.

I had a few friends who were KA's at UF and one of their alumni got them a pretty sweet little wheeled cannon. Made in louisiana and took like a 2-3 lb shot - that was fortunately almost the same size as a pool ball.

They normally shot food at their neighbors and just sprayed their house constantly. My buddy said some dumbass put the pool ball in and shot it. It went straight through the house and into the hill behind it.

The nationals came down and impounded it and it cost that chapter some $.

Looks legit, but that is way too involved for something that is going to sit out in the weather.

Update:

A couple buddies came over and we worked on it last night. I still have some more stuff to do to it, but we made some significant progress.

That's a pencil dick cannon. You need to add some girth. The spool looks good though.

I was thinking of going a little bigger, but the 6" post is heavy. The counterbalance issue made me back it down when I looked at an 8" post. It was very heavy...

Sheath it in PVC pipe to get the girth at the base.

You must add girth. That thing looks like it goes pew pew, not boom boom.

this
get some cheap rigid sewer line pipe at the depot and paint it black ( which is what I would have done from the get go, without the fence post). Your barrel is out of scale with the spool
