Cicada, when i was little, i'd go around collecting their shells off of pine trees in a bucket. Then my brother would smash them all when I got home. You can take the shell and put in on your shirt.

Cicada.

We have them all around the house. I still stomp on the shells to hear them crunch.

Ever seen one of these kill a cicada? I have seen one knock one out of the tree and then fly down and grab the cicada, crawl back up the tree and fly off with him. Was badass.

If that is incorrect I really do not want to hear it.

Bass (especially small mouth) absolutely love those things.

If you get in a good hatch, you can have an epic day of fishing.

Many years ago, I got into one with a fly rod and caught probably 10 fish that were 4 to 6lbs.

All the time. There must have been nests behind my house last Summer. Had males swarming over our bushes for a bit. They also nested in a local golf course sand trap. The pro thought they were hornets and closed the trap.

Nothing puts me to sleep faster than the sound of cicadas. Makes me miss the country.
