All the infighting aside, I would lean on the side of caution with my dog and gators. Losing a good dog sucks. Bad.

back on topic, I would err on the side of caution. I'd much rather lose a few cripples than run the risk of my dog getting in a bind down there.

yep, also dss is right lots of dogs were hunting with us. I only saw one gator no where close to where we hunted. dss and them saw a few

They will still be some out down there but it should be cool enough to keep them a little sluggish. I wouldn't let him go on long retrieves though.

I hunted in Venice during teal season and brought my dog. Right at shooting time I noticed something swimming through my decoys and it was a 7foot gator. I just kept him in the boat but he wasn't happy about it.

I usually don't bring a dog during teal season.
