Only ever owned a bowtech and it was just one bow, however I know Matthews produces high quality bows. The carbon knight looks sweet, and is very light. Was just wanting some opinions

I'm a Hoyt fan, but I'm sure many will say go shoot several different bows and get the one that feels right. They're right, but for me, I love the grips and build of Hoyt bows the past 10 years.

Also, I'm not banging on other brands. Getting in a pissing contest over top brand bows is like arguing over Chevy, Ford, Toyota. They all make great products.

I have a Carbon Knight and love it, but it all depends on the shooter and what they feel comfortable shooting.

Own a bow tech, but local shop here has the new defiant in and tech said I really needed to shoot it.

Also they started carrying Mathews again, looking forward to shooting the No Cam bow

I don't know where all the prices fall, but my next bow will be an elite. Shot a bunch of different bows last year with a buddy who was looking, and nothing came close IMO

you need to visit several archery pro shops and shoot all the bows within your budget

have an open mind and let the bow choose you, don't buy based on what your best friend or cousin shoots

with today's technology, there are lots of great bows to choose from

My 10yr old wanted a bow for Christmas so I got him the Diamond infinite edge. The adjustability on that thing is incredible. But I say that to say that I kinda want to buy a bow for me now.

Will need to do some research but Bowtech, Matthews, and Hoyt will all be in the running.

Like everyone else said, go shoot them all within your budget. As far as the carbon knight goes, it owns the budget carbon bow market. Last year i had every intention on buying one, shot several other bows, and ended up with the Hoyt Powermax. For the money that bow is incredibly hard to compete with.

That new Mathews Halon 5 looks like a beast. I've never considered getting rid of my xforce until that bow came out. I wouldn't suggest the 5 for everyone though.

It's one of the no cam bows. There's a 5,6 and 7 model. The number is the brace height. I like the 5 for the speed. Ibo is 353fps. I haven't shot one yet but I'm going to soon.

Honestly you would have a harder time finding a crappy bow. Bows now are so much better than they were just 10 years ago. I've always had Hoyt's in the past and love them but got a great deal on the Mathews creed and that thing is awesome

The Halon series of bows are dual cams with floating yokes. The No Cam is entirely different system. Ive owned both the HTR (No Cam) and the Halon 6. Soon to own a Halon 6 32.

I prefer the set it up and forget aspect of Mathews. Owned a Bowtech Experience, which was nice, but so much adjustibility with yoke tuning I just never used and it drove me nuts thinking I always had to bareshaft tune the bow.

You're right, I misread on Mathews site. How you like the halon? And what do you want for it?

Hoyt Carbon Defiant is a beast. I got the Hoyt Carbon Spyder ZT and love it, but that defiant is an animal and they have the Defiant Turbo

Also, I know you said Mathews and bowtech and I suggested the Mathews I like, but have you considered PSE? I shoot a pse x force axe 6 and love it. I know there's a few guys on here that shoot a pse too. I want that Mathews Halon but it's going to be real hard to put down my pse. I've been shooting it since 2010 and have taken quite a few deer with it all on an over pressured wma and they never react to the shot before the arrow hits them. I'm sure it's not the lightest or quietest bow out there but it's scary fast. Whatever bow you get, just be sure to shoot grim reaper broadheads

Halon 6 is bad arse. I'm getting the new 32 because I want the Sitka camo limbs and a black riser.

Post your email address on here and Ill shoot you my contact and we can chat about cost.
