I practically stole mine but I would still pay full price if I had to.

If you buy a Mathews, you have it for a while. Its not a bow you buy and trade in in two seasons. I will never shoot anything but, unless im wacking hogs with the xbow..

I understand all that and I know they're the best and all that good stuff.
I just don't find they are THAT much better than anything else to justify the drastically higher price.
I've had my diamond for 5 years, and I don't see myself getting anything new unless it blows up. If it does blow up, I'll probably get a bear. I got a hell of a deal on my diamond. I think I paid a little over 200 bucks for it.

unless I completely give up all other types of hunting.

Shift, have you honestly shot a Mathews made in last five years ?
Posted on 8/19/12 at 3:10 pm to BarDTiger81
I shot a Z7 last week.
There's no doubt that they are very nice, I just don't see where the extra $600 of value comes from.

All of the top line bows cost about the same. The cost of Mathews is overblown.

If the rain slacks off I'm gonna go shoot mine this evening. Still working on dialing it in from 40 yards.

I feel the same about all of the "pro-shop" bows. Insert hoyt, PSE's top end stuff, etc.
They're all very nice. They just aren't twice as nice as some of the $400 bows out there, yet they cost twice as much.

Mathews has an outstanding marketing department.

Exactly.
I don't see why I'd spend more on a bow than my rifle when I only hunt with the now 1/3 of the time.
Alx doesn't rifle hunt, that's different.

Yeah, there's no way I'd spend more on a rifle than bow. Even if I still rifle hunted. Hell, when I rifle hunted the most, I was using a hand-me-down of low quality.

Oh, and if I were buying a new bow tomorrow, I swear I think it would be the chick bow. My shoulders are close to being shot, and I am not getting any younger. 60lbs should do fine.

Get the Mathews Passion with the pink in the camo. That would be cute

My buddy traded a 8 week old black lab for a switchback this morning.

Pretty sure it's a 2012 release. I'm guessing apples to apples, it's faster than the Heli-m.
