Hey baws. I’m in the market for a really accurate bolt .22lr for squirrels and plinking. I have already have a 70s Marlin 39a, S&W 15-22, and an old single shot bolt Remington. I’d like something with a threaded barrel. I’ll be mounting whatever the current equivalent of the Leupold rimfire is on it.

I’ve been looking at the CZ 457 but I’d prefer a wooden stock with a blued barrel and I don’t think they offer a threaded option. Could always get my local smith to thread it though.

Anybody have any suggestions?

It's not technically a bolt but, I have a PWS T3 Summit 22LR that's a toggle action. It's built on the 10/22 platform and takes the BX-25 mags and all. It came with a threaded barrel. A little pricey but, very nice and accurate. Link to an article about it below.

I have a Ruger 77/22. It's dead accurate, limited only by the ammo you feed it, and yourself. They are not cheap, however....

There’s a CZ bolt out there that people used to love but I can’t remember exactly what it was.

I have a CZ 453 in.17HMR, it's the jam. Single set trigger. Not threaded though. I will buy a matching 22lr one day.

I’ve got 2 CZ 452, one threaded. They both shoot great. I think they are discontinued, but you can get the 455 on gunbroker.

I have a CZ 457 MTR, and it has a threaded barrel. I swapped out the stock for Manners. Also, added Area 419 scope rail and bolt knob. I shoot NRL22 matches and hit 300-yard targets consistently.

I have the CZ 452, 455 and 457 with multiple barrels for the 455 and 457 to switch to 17 HMR and 22 mag from 22 LR. You can tune the triggers, add a chassis, etc.
Super accurate, great build quality, beautiful walnut. Highly recommend

I was looking at the cz initially. Ended up with the ruger 8305. It was a little cheaper (not a factor for me) and takes the same mags as the 10/22. Since most of my family has a 10/22, seemed the 8305 was the way to go just for mag availability.
I will say the cz felt like a better made rifle though.

77/22 takes same mags as 10/22, also.

I bought one for my kids about 5 years ago and I can say it's a tack driver. I've used it for squirrels many times. I'd like a CZ but a Savage is just as accurate.

CZ 457 is the answer and they do offer a rifle in this configuration.
