went hunting at my grandpas place last weekend and he said two people in the area have seen the mysterious black panther not even a mile from our property. Should I be worried?

Id be more scared of hogs than a mysterious black panther.

surprisingly we havent seen too many hogs lately besides on the game cameras. They have become cautious of the traps too and wont go near them.

I know there are a few posters that hunt in the area. I was wondering if anyone else has heard anything.

No difference between a black panther and a hog fwiw. Both useless.

True, but wait around in the dark and that grunt from a pissed off hog will scare the shite out of you.

i would think the roar of a panther would be pretty scary as well. Does anyone know where they live? do they climb a tree and sleep there or live on the ground?

Black Panther Sighting in Poplarville Ms

Unless a resident had a black jaguar or leopard that got loose it doesn't exist. The Pearl River basin has had a small population of cougars that could travel the river. But, the black trait doesn't exist. Unless, there is a small population of jaguars, which is almost impossible.

Anybody else notice that the only sightings of "Black Panthers" are eye witness and there are NO game camera pics of them?

Figure they've got a bug detector they carry around with them? That's obviously how bigfoots doing it.

They do. And every time they're a regular cougar.

There's something about the hair that makes it look black to us in shadow.

Well my guess is that most game cameras are set up by feeders and the big cats avoid those because they are very spooky cautious animals. Just a guess though.

How many coyotes you catch on camera?

no one is saying big black cats do not exist, just that they are not panthers. That animal does not exist, never did. If you see a large black cat for real, it is a jaguar
