Quit feeding, or get used to bears/coons/pigs eating your corn.
Once they know there is food there, they will be a semi permanent fixture.
Someone told us to spray ammonia on our trash cans to keep the bears out and it didn't. I think there's a couple bears running around that smell like trash and ammonia though.

Never have used feeders, planting quality food plots makes for no need.

We had a problem with a few tearing up feeders on some private land. We were feeding corn, switched to beans and haven't had any problems since.

Put a sign up that reads "Corn for deer only."

and then extend it to Deer only lunch counters, bathrooms, and water fountains.

Where would you drive in Louisiana where you could see wild black bears? I would love to see one in the wild.

Hang the feeder from a tree limb with a rope. High off the ground, and far out on the limb
This is your only fix, the feeder has to be about 5-6 ft away from the tree hung with steel cable. Also the feeder has to be more than 3ft under the limb cause they will pop the top on the feeder and scoop out all your corn. They are a pain in the butt to deal with since they are protected. Tripods will not work unless you decide to concrete the legs into the ground permanently.
One more thing, the caster has to be more than 6ft off the ground, otherwise the bear will just pull the caster off and sit there to eat all the corn as it falls out the bottom of the barrel.
We have land in Tensas and 1 bear will eat a 55 gallon drum of corn in a weekend if he can dump the corn out.

I did that shite one time and some genius goddamned coon chewed my rope in two and dropped the feeder on the ground. Had it on camera. I was impressed
When a coon sees a free meal, there is no stopping him. Fact.

Just take a leisurely stroll down any interstate, federal hwy, or state hwy and keep an eye on either shoulder or median. There has been a few threads here on the OB of black bear sightings on roadways.

That doesn't work for us. Our hog population will wipe out a lot of hard work you've put into a food plot in one night. I decided to try it this year after not planting food plots for three years. I planted nine food plots this year and they were so nice and lush and the hogs came through and in two nights had completely wiped out 90% of those plots. I now spread corn on the roads by hand. No piles. Just throw it out every once in a while. It will at least keep the deer in the shooting lanes long enough to take a shot.
