I need to buy a trailer to haul my ztr, dirt bikes, 4 wheeler ect and I have decided on a 5x8 will suit my needs. Where is the best place to buy one near BR or LP or AP?

Mike Gerald, and you won't like backing up a 5x8 trailer. I've got a 4x8, and it's not easy

Are 12ft trailers decent or should you just go 14?

Yep. But 13 is perfect for two Honda ranchers.

Guy in Hattiesburg builds them they are cheap and guys at camp love them and swear by them.

I think this is him and they are about 600 bucks.

I have a 5x8, bounces like a superball, i mostly use my 6x12 its a nice trailer you will be surprised how good it pulls and not hard to back up at all. Mike Geralds is where i would go, nice people there.

Have a ProPull from here in BR for my four wheeler, 5 by 8 with ramp. Amazing how much use I've gotten out of it over the years for various tasks

Yes its squirrelly to back up just go slow

Paid $810 for it but that was in 2007. Been really happy with the overall quality of it

I have a 6x10. It's mostly perfect. I'd say get a dual axle if getting a 12".
Also get a dovetailed back gate.

5X8 is easy to handle and store around the house, but is way too small to pull well...you can literally see them bouncing all around when you are going down the road, beating your bikes all to hell.

I pulled an empty unloaded 5x8 trailer to houston yesterday with a midsize suv.

Loaded with 1500lbs of heavy engine parts, backed it up an incline loading dock, loaded another 1k into it, and then pulled it home at 70. Wth are you people doing that a 5x8 trailer is treating you so poorly?

The onky inherent problem when towing with a less than fullsize truck is the large gate. It acts as a sail. A short 1ft gate improves fuel mileage considerably.

If y'all can't back up a 5x8, I wanna watch y'all back up my bbq pit

I can't see my 4x8 at all when backing up unless it is getting all caddywhompus. With really small trailers (log splitter), I usually try a few times and then say frick it and just push the damn things

Just mount a tennis ball on it if thats the problem. One in front, one in rear. Lined up you're going straight.

If I don't have the gate on, I either hang my head out the window or open the rear door.

From appearance only the trailer world trailers seem better built than the Mike Gerald's. Also the tw ones the ramp will fold all the way into the trailer flat.

You will regret getting a 5x8. 6x12 at least.
