re: best fixed broadhead

I shoot broadheads at a multi density target like this. I shoot my arrow just like I would at a deer, lighted nocks, slick tricks, the whole 27 feet. I save the high dollar "Block" for practice tips.

Thunderheads, G5 montecs, and shuttle t-locks are all good fixed blades. The shuttles shoot almost identical to field points.

Am I the only person who shoots shuttle t's. I've always shot them and always had success. Am I missing out on something even better ?

Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts in 100 grain. Although I am seriously toying with switching to the Silver Flame 180 grain

Because they are cheap, and they have an edge that cuts. I think having something sharp on the end of your arrow greatly enhances your chances of a quick kill.

But, these are for my longbow.

Wow.

Then expect to keep your recovery rate low...

Not only is this a bad idea, it's not ethical either. It should be your goal to never wound and lose a deer.

I shoot thunderheads, but this is my first year. I haven't shot anything with them yet, but the only reason I bought them is because they were fairly cheap and I've heard decent reviews on them. Should I switch? I might go with the slick tricks, or maybe even the blood runners.

Definitely not if your bow shoots them well enough for you to be happy with them. If you're not happy with the groups then try something else.

They will all do a great job if you can make them hit the right place.

I have never shot them, and they look really interesting, but one test I read said they planed more than most other heads. I don't have that link, and it was just some guy with a blog that tested heads. If you can group them, great.

Gotcha. Well if my shooting ever goes south, which it probably will now because I will have it in my head that shuttle t's plane out bad I will have to give something else a try. Haha
