You are correct. Not sure what went down with gambler, if they went bankrupt or were bought out by AMS, but anyway they build them now.

While it's very nice, its not what I want. I dont care about running 85+mph. Ya'll saying that fiberglass holds up to stumps just as well as a metal boat, does that hold true 10 yeards down the road when that fiberglass starts seperating? A metal boat with metal decks will be just getting worn in when that fiberglass boat needs a new hull.

I had a Skeeter for 16 years. Fished local impoundments, Toledo and local swamps-all of which are full of stumps. I even ran into a stump field at night at speed. Not one issue with the hull. Some dude in the LC area has it now.

For every story of success like yours Alx I've heard two stories of catastrophic failures in stump fields with fiberglass. My buddy destroyed the bottom of his ranger on Toledo recently.

I hear you 4x4. You said you wanted the best
Seriously though for aluminum, which I don't have a problem with have owned a couple, would go with either G3 or xpress. Could check out the tritons, not sure if they still make an aluminum bass boat or not.

If memory serves, he was fishin and the waves kicked up and he dropped down on a stump when the wave fell.

Triton rebadges the Crestliner aluminum boats. From what I've been researching on them, they're basically bass trackers with aluminum decks. Just a no frills kinda boat

That's the most common way. I avoid stump fields in big waves.

I have had 2 fiberglass bass boats, a Hydra Sport and a Champion. Bothe were 18ft with 150's. They were great back when I did the bass tourneys.

I will never own another bass boat. If I ever get another boat besides the one I have it will be a 18-20ft aluminum utility boat with a front deck.

Right now I have a 17ft tunnel hull skiff. Works great at the coast or in the rivers. Fishing, running limblines, jugging, running crawfish traps, whatever. It suits me well for what I do now.

I have had this boat for 3 years. I may keep it and upgrade the power to a 60 E-Tec.

Is that your Bullet? If so, we'd get along great. Mine is very similar.

They look good, I'd love to have a landing craft Not quite what I had in mind though.
