The silver mallard...learn me about em and give me your .02.

Picked one up at a decent price, seem to ALWAYS go fast and at a premium second hand.

Hear so many great things about the argent canard, wanted to hear from the baws using it.

Merci boucoup

18 years with mine. Absolute work horse. First 10 years hunted the Wax. My friend had problems every third or fourth hunt with his SBE2 while I rocked along. Rabbit hunted with it this past Saturday. Just changed a choke tube out and shot high brass 2 3/4 like nothing. I plan to get the A400 this year and let my 17 hunt with the AL390, but it’s more of a time for a new gun thing than a need for one.

mine is 23 years old and i will never get rid of it. It is my favorite gun in my collection. I have had zero issues with it. It may not get used much but when it does, it works great.

the Beretta 390/391 could arguably be the most reliable, dependable, and owner confidant shotgun produced. Lightweight, comfortable profile, and easy to swing & shoot. Beretta did a special run of 390's for Walmart in the early 2000's and they were priced at $499. Some were even reduced to $399 when they were marked on close-out. These same exact 390's were sold in sporting goods stores for $900 ~ $1000. The 390/391's can be found online "used" priced from $600 ~ $800. I sold a Benelli SBE I and bought a 390, haven't looked back and 100% satisfied.

I shoot the Beretta AL391 Urika for hunting and the White Wing over/under for recreation. I have a few other shotguns but they mainly collect dust because I love those two guns so much. I think you'll be happy with it. I'm not sure how the 390 and 391 Urika compare exactly but the recoil on mine is minimal as well.

Not quite, Heres how I got here:

I Bought a 400x+ over an sbe and m2 and really like it so far. Nephew borrowed it for a hunt and fell in love...but doesnt have deep pockets.

I picked up a second hand 391x with a sticky stock for him because its so much like mine. Finding a replacement stock has proved to be more challenging than I anticipated, but I really like the gun so far.

Then I had a chance to pick up this silver mallard for a really good price as a gun for my dad who was still shooting an old 870. I have high hopes for it, the posts here are reinforcing that hope.

I own 4 now. Three are 12 gauge and one is a 20 gauge. The one I hunt with has the original Advantage camo finish and I've had the SureCycle system installed. It is very reliable and I shoot it well. The other 2 12 gauge models are "Walmart" 390's that I bought for my 2 sons before they were born. They both turned out left-handed and shoot right handed shotguns.

Just restocked my 391. Here is 391 Fore-end. 390 stock works perfect. They discontinued 391 synthetic stock. Pair it with a limbsaver. Its perfect.

At sporting clays a cpl weeks back i traded guns for a round w a padnah. He shot my 391 and i shot his maxus. Maxus didn't fit me well and my padnah kicked my a** with my own 391 ... that hurt a little :) maxus was a nice gun but i am not looking for one

For me it’s just the opposite. I shoot a 20 yr old browning gold that fits me like a glove. It’s finicky and needs to be cleaned often. Doesn’t always go boom like the 390

I have a 391 and love it. My dad has a Benelli M1 and a SBE and prefers the 391 to it

Bought my AL390 Silver Mallard in '96 or '97 I think, thereabouts.

Super sweet gun to this day. I've retired it in favor of an inertia gun for duck hunting, but it's my go-to still for clay tourneys and doves. Killed a ton of ducks and geese with it over the years but hated to see it continue to be exposed to salt marsh.

I got 2 Xtremas that look like that. No replacement exists, that I’ve found. You buy these things as a lifetime purchase and then that happens… smdh

I promise u it works. The stock is slightly shorter as it does not come with a pad either. The limb saver is a thicker pad and gives you the extra length. Although there are 2 limbsaver pads available I think it was 10702 that fit mine. Just measure from top to bottom. Just match the length to the limbsaver specs.
