Sucks man. Forecast is now for thunderstorms all through the weekend. I can't remember a year of more consistently shitty weather.

Rain ran me off. I'm tired of this weather as well but when I get the itch to go, I'm going.

Water looked good on the north end, real clear on the south end. Threw spinner bait, sexy dog, frog and jig.

I'm gonna be on the water as much as possible this weekend, hopefully it will be those afternoon storms that blow over quick. May try to do some night fishing.

I'll be in your stomping grounds Monday. Have some family that wants to meet up and wet some lines.

Was supposed to go to Henderson Tuesday but dad had a blow out on his boat trailer between Prairiville and BR and didn't wanna go on just his spare.

NOAA website has the gauge at the Atchafalaya River above Butte la Rose at 7.2 this morning. You mentioned between 13-14 is optimal, so what does this mean for the fishin in that area? I've never fished it but wanted to give a try Saturday morning. Thanks.

I've only fished Henderson a few times, all this year. From what I understand this is the gauge to watch. I think I was told under 12' and falling is optimal but I can't say 100%. Someone will be along shortly to chime in.

This is the gauge I watch and it's starting to look good!

Thanks for the info, probably go out there regardless of the gauges/reports, just wanna wet a line, try out the new Garmin electronics and run the boat.

Morgan city gauge affected by tide FYI. But that's the one I use as well. I've been doing well on the north end of the basin last 3 weeks. Caught a limit on every trip. Nothing over 3lbs. Catch and release.

Went to Henderson Saturday, first time out there, fished until the weather got bad. About what I expected, caught a gar, and nothing else; couple blow ups on a frog and that was all she wrote. Fished from about 630 to 930 and that's when the weather turned nasty. In hindsight, I'm wondering if the afternoon would've been a better choice.

Someone must have been catchin something b/c there was 100 boats at the landing.

Anyone else at Henderson on Saturday morning do any good?

There was a sacalait tournament I think. Actually I'm pretty sure there were a few tournaments this weekend. I didn't go to Henderson Saturday (went to Bayou Benoit instead) for that reason. But I know people that did go and caught pretty good.

Don't let that discourage you from going back. Took me a while to crack that nut. Still go out there from time to time and struggle.
