Where is the nearest lake I can go to with a bass boat and slam the bass? I've never been bass fishing in the BR area. I've caught in Toledo bend but I don't want to drive that far.

Have you cut your hair yet?

I would imagine Henderson would be a close place. I grew fishing around Morgan City but not around BR.

I have the opportunity to use a good friends boat in exchange for some fun. I just need some recommendations of somewhere close by.

Tickfaw, Blind river were both shut down due to high water. Both would not be considered places to "slam" bass, but on the right day it happens occasionally. You can count on catching few.

I need to make the drive over there and go with one of you guys that fishes the basin a good bit. I've been wanting to go, but looking at it on Google earth it looks intimidating! There's so much damn water!

Perfect water level in Henderson is when the Atchafalaya is 13-14' at Butte Larose and it is about 13.5 now and is really productive right now

Okhissa- Less than two hours away in Mississippi. Will be closer to the deep water patterns used in Toledo bend than Henderson. Be aware that virtually the whole lake is a no wake zone.

Is Blind River still shut down? I've looked online, and I can't find any info on it.

Hit Henderson baw. Water isn't great, but it's better than it was a few weeks ago. Might be out there this weekend.
