Took the day off yesterday and headed to the camp. Started biting around noon. Got 3 keepers, threw 3 more back and lost two good ones at the boat. Water temp is finally over 70 but its real low. If it would come up about a foot it would be on. The two bigger fish didn't look like they had eggs but they did and neither had blood in em.

I've always heard that the egg sac gets more blood in it the closer they get to spawning.

What were you throwing? Were they shallow?

Yeah, I came here to ring the dinner bell. Yesterday was okay, but today and tomorrow before the fronts will be good. I'm going to try and get out to one of the satellite lakes today.

The warm weather is finally here, and everything will explode very soon.

All where on the bank against trees or stumps. Half caught on a purple spinner with a black trailer and half on a chartreuse and black with a black trailer. They wouldn't touch any soft plastics or traps.
