Trying to back check my quote. The mechanic says the torque converter is going out and he will probably need to rebuild the transmission if that's the case. I've used him before for smaller stuff and don't have any reason to distrust the guy, but I don't want to spend $2200 without doing a check first. What says the OB?

I had the transmission rebuilt for a 2006 GMC Sierra for $1600 about 5 years ago.

Could probably go cheaper. I think mine on my 2009 Tahoe was closer to 2, maybe less.

I'd say about $2,000 for human's to do it. No idea what a ballpark would charge tho.

1500-2000 at Louisiana transmission.

Highly recommend Eddie and his crew over there, they've done transmission work for me for years.

2011 F150 w 60k miles.

1 valve body, 3 tube Assy, 1 trans flush.

Between parts and labor it's right under 2k.

I've never towed anything too big and am just ticked off about the whole thing.

$1500 give or take a couple hundred. Depending on the trans, you might be able to get a brand new one for cheaper

I just replaced the transmission on my 2008 silverado. (83K miles). It was only a couple hundred more and a much better warranty to just get a new transmission rather than a rebuild. Total cost including labor and fluids was $2500.

Anywhere between $800 and $5000 depending on what's torn up in it.

I just replaced my truck transmission (04 3/4 ton) with a brand new one from GM. $4200

Maybe. Caught the explosive flaming redass when it shite the bed for the 2nd time in 10k miles. The second time it died violently.

Right around $3k for the transmission from GM and $1000ish for the install, all synthetic fluids, and a couple of minor things came out to $4200.

Oughta be good for another 250k miles.

ETA: just checked the invoice. 2950 for the trans, 135 for transmission and t case fluid, 750 for remove and install, 66.50 for cooler flush and test, 35 for consumables and haz Chem fee, and some taxes.

Was not a cheap venture.
