I wouldn't have a cart unless it was 4x4. That's about the easiest option to say that I would or wouldn't want on a golf cart. That being said, I use mine to hunt as well as patrol the hood. If it wasn't for 4x4, I would have been stuck many many times.
Now if you just want to visit your neighbors on it then stick to the 2x4 and be done

Yea but where you in a situation where you had to be where you were or was it just an "experiment" to see what your buggy could or couldn't do? We mainly use buggy's to shoot and they are all 2x4's and have never had any issues.

I have a 48v EZGO RXV and use it for hunting. I put a lift, mud tires and a winch on it. It's not going to get through deep mud holes but I can get anyplace on my lease with it. I have had to use the winch a few times especially when the batteries are not at full charge. Works perfect for what I need.

Absolutely not. I have to go through a hilly area to my stand. If the ground is wet, the tires will spin out in 2x4 mode. One thing about a hunting cart.... don't take it through the bad nasty stuff ( deep mud) or it just won't last. Also, I have been in wet sand and would have been stuck if not for 4x4. That saved a 3 mile walk. Trust me, I have had my Stealth for 5 years or so and used the 4x4 on it more than my pick up. It's 100% a difference maker. I have rode the lifted 2x4 carts and it's a joke to compare the two.

Sounds like you must be the exception. I have had time with both and the 4x4s are pieces of shite.

Huntve is not a golf cart as you think.... It'll go anywhere your ATV will go.

Well I will say that if I were paying 10k+ for a new one then I could see where people would say they are not worth the money and comparably (to an atv) speaking I would agree.
I have heard the bad stories of all the carts badboy, stealth, titan, ect. I'm not making a claim which one is better or worse. I'm just saying that luckily mine has been the tits and 4x4 has been solid for me. The only problems I have had is batteries, but that can be said for any cart. Batteries are a pain in the arse.

Either way to the OP, $5000 for a slick clean bad boy with good/newer batteries is a fair deal.

My 64 volt Huntve did fine this season. Went threw places my brother in law wouldn't drive his ATV. Sits higher off the ground giving it advantage in water an mud.

We are on our 3rd bad boy buggie. All have had their fair share of problems. The one we have now is the 72v and it's a beast for sure. But it's stupid things that break on ours Like the brakes, suspension, frame, and we just replaced all batteries on the one we have. BUT here the thing, we have an absolute ton of hours on our carts. My FIL is retired and from August - February he is at our camp 95% of the time and uses that buggie at least 12-15 miles a day feeding and going back and forth to stands in that time frame. The electric cart is super nice to have. We have driven up nearly on top of hogs and deer without them hearing us.

The most expensive piece of shite. My best friend had one and it was a true POS.

Polaris ranger won't come close to doing what the Huntve will do. You can't put a Polaris. in 4 wheel drive on the fly! Polaris sits lower... More apt to get stuck... Doesn't have that much room in cab. Uncomfortable unless you're a midget.

I don't put that many miles a day but it is very handy for the feeding & checking cameras

There is one for sale by where I work for 5k and it looks in excellent condition.

I don't care what brand the golf cart is, that's way too much for a used cart. Buy an older cart that still looks good. New batteries will run you around $600. A lift kit and bigger tires will be around $800, if you do it yourself. Batteries are fricking batteries. This whole golf cart brand thing is bullshite.

If you are gonna judge the value of an electric solely on price then it's not for everyone. Do some research and find out what you are comparing. Huntves are custom made by hand piece by piece... Aluminum frame ...
They are not comparable to golf carts! Look it up....see for yourself but don't dog it because of pricing.

I don't know anything about the Huntve but I don't think I would have a problem that the Huntve will go in the same places (at least consistently) that I've taken my mid size ranger.

As a duck hunter I've had mine in water that was at least two feet deep (basically over my boots on my waders).
I would bet that a Huntve won't do that too many times.
