I build exterior cypress tables, chairs, swings, this stuff is the best for exterior, trust me, two coats, and one coat every other year or so, can't beat it.

I took an old cheap garage sale you chest find my wife showed up with and made it look great.

I think the chest was outside and had gotten wet numerous times. It was dirty and ugly as hell when it showed up.

I mixed tung oil and real turpentine together. Then I poured that mix in a glass jar partially full of hot water. The hot water keeps the thick oil really workable and the mixture both cleans and adds oil to protect the wood.

spar varnish with a tung oil base.
